Introduction (relevance of the topic).

Describe the relevance of the problem that has become the subject of the study, including its scale (prevalence, morbidity, etc.), indirect effects (social, economic), as well as the solved and unresolved aspects of the problem with the analysis of previously published data (Russian, foreign).

Aim of the study.

Describe the study’s main (primary) aim, the research question that the study was to solve.

Materials and methods (for an original study only).

It includes several obligatory subsections:

A. Study design. For randomized trials, it is mandatory to describe the randomization procedure in detail.

B. Eligibility criteria. Describe criteria for inclusion, exclusion, and withdrawal from the study.

C. Conditions in which the study was conducted (in particular the study site(s)).

D. Duration of the study. Provide data on the planned duration of the enrollment period; the duration of the observation period with a description of all intermediate control points.

E. Description of the medical intervention. Doses of drugs, their titration regimen, modes of administration, time point of the start and duration of drug use, conditions for therapy discontinuation. For surgical interventions, describe the preoperative preparation, the operation itself, including anesthesia and postoperative management of the patients.

F. Study outcomes (main, additional), analysis in subgroups, methods of registration of outcomes.

G. Statistical analysis (calculating the sample size, methods of statistical data analysis).

Results (original study) / The main text of the article (all other sections) with the possible highlighting of subheadings (in reviews) or a description of clinical observation (in practical notes).

A. Subjects (participants) of the study.

B. The main results of the study.

Describe the main outcome of the study and the associated statistical analysis of the data. Illustrative presentation of data (tables, figures) is encouraged. Duplication of data in the text is not allowed.

B. Additional results of the study.

Describe the additional outcomes of the study, the results of evaluating the effects in subgroups, and/or the mechanisms of the described effects. The analysis should be limited to only subgroups that have been listed in the “Subgroup analysis” subsection.

D. Adverse events.

Include in “main text of the article” in all journal sections. Description of adverse events is presented in a separate section “Results” only in case of an original study.

Discussion

A. Summary of the main study result (3-5 sentences).

B. Discussion of the results related to the hypothesis (main goal) of the study. The discussion should be conducted in the context of previously known data, opinions, and theories (with references to literature) and take into account additional results of this study and the results of analysis in subgroups.

C. Limitations of the Study.

Provide an analysis of factors that can significantly influence the conclusions of the study.

Relevant for original studies and practical notes.

Do not combine the “results” and “discussion” sections!

The conclusion should be presented as a plain text, not a numbered list.

Ethical review

Indicate approval by the responsible ethics committee (official name of the committee, decision, document number, date of signing) or exemption from the need for this review. In the absence of a formal ethics committee, indicate that the study was conducted under the Declaration of Helsinki. Report whether the study participants signed voluntary informed consent.

Contribution of authors

Describe in Russian and English (see the section “Layout and structure of the article”, paragraph 6).

Describe the share contribution of each author to the preparation of the publication clearly. If possible, present it as a percentage.
