Gene background could determine not only the subject’s susceptibility to sarcoidosis, but also a clinical course of the disease. Currently,  allele variants that could be used as prognostic markers to reveal subjects susceptible to sarcoidosis and to predict a clinical course of sarcoidosis are investigated. Published data on a relationship between the carriage of certain allele variants and the subject’s susceptibility to sarcoidosis are scarce and controversial. Nevertheless, those data could be used to detect potential goals for targeted therapy of sarcoidosis and to develop measures to prevent this disease.</p></trans-abstract><kwd-group xml:lang="ru"><kwd>саркоидоз легких</kwd><kwd>полиморфизм генов</kwd><kwd>однонуклеотидные замены</kwd></kwd-group><kwd-group xml:lang="en"><kwd>pulmonary sarcoidosis</kwd><kwd>gene polymorphisms</kwd><kwd>single nucleotide substitution</kwd></kwd-group><funding-group><funding-statement xml:lang="ru">Финансовое обеспечение исследований осуществлялось из средств федерального бюджета на выполнение государственного задания Федерального государственного бюджетного учреждения науки «Федеральный исследовательский центр “Карельский научный центр Российской академии наук”» (0221-2014-0034).</funding-statement><funding-statement xml:lang="en">The study was supported from a budget of Karelian Federal Research Center, Russian Academy of Science.</funding-statement></funding-group></article-meta></front><back><ref-list><title>References</title><ref id="cit1"><label>1</label><citation-alternatives><mixed-citation xml:lang="ru">Визель А.А., ред.
